Agreement to terms
By downloading, installing, or using OpenLedger ("the Software"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Software.
License
OpenLedger Community Edition is provided free of charge for personal and commercial use. You may install and use the Software on any number of devices. You may not reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Software except as permitted by applicable law.
Your data
You retain full ownership of all data you create, import, or store using OpenLedger. The Software stores data locally on your device. We do not access, collect, or store your financial data unless you explicitly opt in to cloud features.
Website & online services
The OpenLedger website provides download, documentation, support, and community features. By using the website, you agree to provide accurate information and not to misuse the services provided.
User accounts
If you create an account on the OpenLedger website, you are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You must not share your account with others.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Software or website for any illegal purpose.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or other users' accounts.
- Distribute malware or harmful code through our platform.
- Submit false support tickets or abuse our support system.
- Scrape, harvest, or collect information from our website without permission.
Disclaimer of warranties
THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NONINFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant that the Software will be error-free, uninterrupted, or free of harmful components.
Limitation of liability
IN NO EVENT SHALL CAROLINA MICRO SOLUTIONS, INC. BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SOFTWARE OR WEBSITE. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Software (which, for the Community Edition, is $0).
Financial disclaimer
OpenLedger is a financial tracking tool, not a financial advisor. You are responsible for the accuracy of your financial records and should consult a qualified professional for financial, tax, or legal advice.
Termination
We may terminate or suspend your access to the website and online services at any time for violations of these terms. The desktop Software will continue to function on your device regardless of account status.
Changes to terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use constitutes acceptance.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, United States.
